Adan y Eva – Cameroon

Posted By ironmeden on December 19, 2007

Who wouldn’t like to smoke a cigar with a half naked chick on it’s band?

All your dreams come true then with the smoking of the cigar Adan y Eva from Eden’s Gate Cigars. We recently contacted Eden’s Gate regarding the possibility of selling their brand in our shoppe. They were quick to respond and are very excited of possibly entering the Twin Cities cigar market. We received a very generous sampling of all their cigars from the Adan y Eva lines as well as the Emilio Reyes Collection.

My first cigar from the Adan y Eva line would be the Robusto Cameroon. Its a 50×5 cigar. The wrapper obviously is a Cameroon. It has a slight dull look to it and is a little veiny.

The band as noted has the traditional look of Adam and Eve after they have sinned. Note the leaves hiding their privates. The band is accented by two red ribbons with 4 gold medallions on each side of the picture. Note again then boobs on Eva.

The wrapper had one defect on it as i’ve heard it named before, it had a toothy defect. It was very slight which was just below the band.

I made a V-Cut to the head of cigar and lit up the end with a match. From the very start I got a bitter taste, but it went away quickly. It didn’t take away from the cigar, but it was noticeable. But after the first inch the cigar changed for the better. There was a nutty and fruity notes coming from the cigar. The sweetness from the cigar stood out.

As readers of this blog have read in the past, when a cigar gets my saliva glands going, I’m smoking a great cigar. Once I started getting that sweet and fruity notes, I didn’t need anything to drink.

The ash is white, with very light shade of gray, but it does have that glowing white look to it. Its a very attractive ash as you smoke it. It also holds up pretty well. I let it go for about 2 inches at the start and it took a pretty good hit to the cigar to get it to drop off in the ash tray.

Now the sweetness lasted throughout the cigar. It didn’t change at all to the halfway point even to the end. I didn’t want the cigar to end. I nubbed this one down to the end.

As I look at it in the ashtray, sitting there all smoked out, I can only remember the good times I had with this cigar. Oh the memories.

Here are notes from the Eden’s Gate website:

Adan Y Eva cigars are each meticulously hand crafted from the finest quality tobaccos available in the Dominican Republic. They are cultivated and grown by third generation tobacco grower, Emilio Reyes, on his own plantations. Adan y Eva may be described on a continuum from mild to medium to full-flavored and robust; they all draw smoothly, burn evenly and are highly regarded by connoisseurs throughout the world. They are filled with Cuban Seed long leaf and binder tobaccos, perfectly packed, rolled, and expertly wrapped.

I have to say I am very impressed with my first sampling of Adan y Eva from Eden’s Gate cigars. If Cameroon is your vice, you need to pick this cigar up.
