The Brick

Going through the process of opening our shoppe, we have contacted a lot of the cigar companies. With getting these contacts, they have also been sending us samples of their cigars. Most we have already smoked and a few that we are not familiar with.

One of the cigars we received is from Carlos Torano. The Brick is a nice looking cigar. The cigar is a bundled cigar. Its a rectangular boxed press cigar, which of course makes it look like a brick. I’m a big fan of box pressed cigars.

The band is simple, it displays the name of the cigar with the background of a brick wall.

The wrapper is Sumatra and is quite veiny. It’s dark and has a slight oily film coating the cigar.

A V-Cut was made to the head of the cigar. I got a light cocoa flavor from the beginning. It has an easy draw. For the cigar being darker in shade, this is a light cigar. Its easy to smoke and enjoy.

The burn was a problem. The first half of cigar burned uneven and I had to light up part of the cigar to even it out. After that first half, it turned around and had an even burn.

For the size of the cigar which is 6×54, it was a quick smoke. All the way through The Brick is mild, the cocoa flavor disappears in the middle, but it does come back towards the end. As the cigar ended, there was a strong bitter taste. I think it was burning hot at this point. It almost became unsmokable.

The Brick is a great economical smoke for the first 3/4 of the cigar. Even because of the end of the cigar, I would not hesitate recommending this cigar.
