Double Your Pleasure!

I’ve never done this before, at least I don’t think I have done it. Two cigar reviews in one blog entry! Warning!! This should not be done by amateurs. Do not try this at home.

Ok, you can try it, but do it at your local cigar lounge where a support team can be put together to back you up in case of an emergency.

The first cigar is the Camacho Havana. I don’t want to admit this, so to make this cigar size sound more manly, i’m putting it in upper case and bold. The size of the cigar is PETIT, it is a 5 1/2 x 42.

Don’t be fooled by the size, this little guy packs a full flavor punch. I was quite surprised by the strength of this cigar. The cigar is smooth with a woody flavor. The one drawback to this cigar is the draw. It has a tight draw. I did clip the end of the cigar which I rarely do. This is probably one reason why i’m getting more flavor out of it. Also the ash is very soft, the ash fell off twice in my lap during this short cigar. The ash also burns dark.

For the size you would think this would be a decent morning cigar, but you would be wrong. This one should be smoked in the evening after a decent steak dinner. If you want a quick and hefty smoke, this would be a great choice.

Next up is the CAO Criollo. Again this is a small cigar at 4 3/4 x 50.

Like all the other size Criollo’s it has a little twisty at the head of the cigar. I’ve smoked a few of these before and as CAO’s go, its probably not their best cigar, but it isn’t terrible.

The Criollo is probably the sweetest in the line of CAO’s. This particular size didn’t really have that scent i’ve come know from this cigar. It didn’t have that aromatic flavor in the smoke.

Again this size also displayed a tough draw. I never smoke cigar in these sizes, so I wonder if because they are smaller the tobacco is packed tighter?

Towards the end of this smoke the Criollo flavor reared its head. So there was a little flavor in this short cigar.

Between these to short smokes, I would recommend the Camacho.

Both of these cigars can be found at Cigars Direct.

You might be onto something with the small cigar/tight packing theory. I had bought a tin of Gurkha cigarillos, and the first two wouldn’t work, the draw was impossible. The third out of the tin was tasty, but at that ratio, it’s expensive to buy ten cigarillos to smoke only three.
