She’s A Beauty

What a week it has been. With our plans to take over the world coming closer to completion, the stress levels have really been high. So with the week completed I sat down on a very indian summerish day in September and light up a Gurkha Beauty.
I needed this mild smoke to relax me.
Last week had a pretty good highlight. The owner of where I work purchased a table at a fund raiser. He invited employees who smoked cigars and were sports fans to this fund raiser. The Super Sports Smoker took place in Excelsior MN at the Bay View Events Center. The event was put on by WCCO Radio and Stogies on Grand. Stogies was donating cigars to everyone who showed up. I was quite impressed with the cigars they had available. They gave you a Rocky Patel ’92, CAO Gold and your choice of either a Macanudo Gold or a Partagas 1845. I chose the Partagas since that has more flavor then the Macanudo.
Also for sale they had the new CAO Americas. I purchased 2 of them for a review at a later time.
At the event they had the sports on air talent doing a live 2 hour show, as well as local sports celebrities, Former Viking Chuck Forman and Head Coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves Randy Wittman.
They fed us very well, they started off with a salad, then onto a steak and potato’s main course. I missed out on the Cheesecake since I went outside of the tent to enjoy one of my newly acquired cigars.
It was a fantastic evening, food, smokes and great friends to enjoy the evening with.
It is also Elvis’ Birthday today. You should all email him and get his address and send him a smoke for reaching the ripe old age of 35. We had a great time last night celebrating his birthday. I joined up with the celebration at a local watering hole named Katie’s in Shoreview, MN. We were under the impression that since Elvis’ is a regular and we brought in about 8 people to enjoy the evening, they would look past their no cigar and pipe rule for a few hours. Of course someone had to complain and I had just lit up my CAO Italia and was just getting my first few puffs of it when the bartender told me I had to put it out. I think it bugged me more then it should. I still had a great time there, but we wanted to smoke a cigar. We left there about midnight and Elvis and I and his brothers headed over to Moe’s in Moundsview, which is just across the street from the carcass of a building named Robert’s.
We arrived and light up our cigars. Our waitress Jessica who was really cool and put up with our crazy antics joined us after she got off of work and we offered her a CAO Black and she lit it up and smoked it with us. Talk about sexy!
Now with that sexy image in mind I decided tonight to light up the Gurkha Beauty. The wrapper is light in color which is from Ecuador. Over the wrapper the cigar has the standard Gurkha band and below that a large black band with the inscription of Beauty which is attached to a cedar band. The cigar is 6×58. The cigar didn’t come in the glass tube since I got it online a few months ago from Tampa Humidor. It came with a sampler pack of different Gurkha’s.
The lighting of the cigar was easy, it took the flame of my match and with a few puffs, the foot was bright orange, what a beautiful site. Again this cigar as like many of the other Gurkha’s has that distinctive flavor of being a Gurkha.
The cigar is creamy and mild throughout. It has a woodsy note to it. Its a very consistent cigar. It burned evenly. The binder is Dominican and the filler is Nicaraguan.
The one thing about this cigar, it made me very thirsty. I usually have a bottle of water with my cigars and I get through about half a bottle, but I was quite parched as I smoked the cigar.
This is another high quality cigar from Gurkha. I recommend this cigar for those who want a mild flavored cigar and want to spend a few extra bucks for this smoke.
