The cigar industry awoke recently with new legislation that would increase the federal tax per cigar from 5 cents to $10 per stick!
Thats not a misprint, $10 per cigar!!
Cigar smokers are looking at seeing their hobby turn from a relaxing past time to a stressful commodity.
People it is time for another Boston Tea Party!
I can’t believe that for example someone like me who has been turned on to cigars the last 7 years will not be able to afford 1 stick in the near future if this legislation is passed.
I think Crack will be cheaper then purchasing a cigar. Will it come to a point where we have to buy cigars from the local pusher on the corner?

From other article i’ve read, it appears President Bush would veto any such legislation. But if it does pass, i’m not sure what we would do. Do people who smoke cigarettes stop smoking so this bill is not funded? What will this do to your local B&M store? I’m sure the online stores would move overseas for their business.
Please contact your representative in the House and Senate! Let them know how you feel! Say it loud and say it alot!
